Hello! Kamusta po? 

My name is Marites and I was born and raised in the Philippines, migrated in the US and eventually Canada.

I was six months pregnant with a 2 year old in tow when I came to live with my husband who had a working visa as an IT professional. After a year living in Cleveland OH, I had another baby and we all had to adjust what it means to live in another country that is totally different from a life we once knew. In order to send my kids to Montessori school ran by nuns, I asked them if I can offer my services in exchange for a free tuition and that's how my IT experience started. When 9/11 happened, our visa ran out and I have found a lawyer who gave us an idea of migrating to Canada.

When we finally moved 2006, we each found an IT job with the same start date and bought a house a year later. When the financial crisis happened in 2009, I urged Andy to move to a house double the size but lost my job before closing. I took all the energy in me to ask my boss to help us provide the documentation or confirmation to close the house.

When my daughter went to university, we bought a townhouse for her to live in only to realize that it was the start of my real estate investing journey.

​

During the pandemic, I lost my job yet again only to realize that it will be the start of my entrepreneurial journey and a chance to re-create another chapter that I am most passionate about. Was this fate? OR the steps that I have taken eventually lead me here.
